And then the few 1-on-1 matches we do see get interfered in (which yeah, that's a wrestling tradition, but it used to be that just many ended clean as were interfered in, that's not the case anymore).
I like a good one-on-one match, especially if it's a great rivalry, And when it's a great rivalry, and the match ends clean, that's even better IMO.
Just a random thought.
I'd attribute the lack of clean finishes to WWE not wanting anyone to 'go over' anyone else except at a PPV. Otherwise, the only 1 on 1 finishes we tend to see are squashes. The midcard feuds are completely non-existent, and there's no way you're going to see Sheamus or John Cena get pinned clean by anyone on TV.
It's somewhat frustrating to know that none of the "good" matches will ever end cleanly, but that's what WWE has become at this point.
Is it just me, or did WWE wrestling used to be more heel dominant years ago? Now and days it always seem like the babyfaces have the upper hand, with the heels usually being the underdogs in every single feud
What ever happened to the days of heel Triple H owning everyone on Raw? Maybe it's less of an indication of the current state of wrestling and more an indication that Triple H always puts himself over everyone else no matter what role he plays.
I really hate watching any show that makes the good guys the dominant force. I think good drama only is accomplished when evil always has the upper hand and good is always hanging by a thread. John Cena should be the guy who can beat any midcarder, but is always the underdog in any feud involving a main event heel. That would make wrestling so much more interesting. This is why I loved Mark Henry's huge heel push last year. He dominated everyone, even making a guy like Randy Orton seem like the underdog in their feud.
when most shows come close to their season finales, we see the good guys struggling against a powerful enemy, and we hope to see them win in the finale, or prepare ourselves for the worst case scenario and the possibility of one or more people getting killed off. Wrestling just doesn't play by the same rules as other entertainment. It's actually a big surprise when the heel defeats the babyface cleanly. Instead we get BS victories like count outs, disqualifications, and other crap that just makes heels look like weak, little bitches trying to beat faces that are way out of their league.
I HATE THAT!!!!
There's no real drama in wrestling anymore
