I think there are bigger titles though. Also, I didn't follow E3 as closely this year, so there are probably a bunch of titles I didn't mention.

And I think there's a good point that the cusp of a new console generation always sees a drop-off in new IPs.

Actually I feel like the opposite happens. Publishers start the new franchises early on so they can milk them with sequels during the entire generation (CoD, Assasin's Creed, ect)

I guess I can throw up ZombiU.

Honestly, it looks to me like this could, to a point, an actual survival horror zombie game. It looks like it will have many cases of "Let me get my flashlight out... *BOOM* Mother fu**ing zombie".

That's when the next generation starts. So far only the Wii U is starting, while Microsoft and Sony are still claiming that their consoles will go on for several more years. But lots of publishers and developers believe that we're due for announcements from both of them in the next year or so.

A Game of Dwarves

This looks kind of like Dwarf Fortress only simplified and with polygons instead of ASCII characters.

Quantum Conundrum

Quantum Conundrum is the latest game from Kim Swift, the creator of Portal. Quantum Conundrum looks like more mind-bending puzzle fun, only this game is about switching in and out of an alternate "fluffy" dimension.

BulletRun

*Click for trailer, sign up for beta*

BulletRun is a free-to-play FPS in the vein of Unreal Tournament. The concept is that you are all gunning each other down in some crazy reality TV contest. The gameplay twist that sets this game apart from other multiplayer FPS games is that since it is about a televised broadcast, kills are not the only thing that matter: ratings are. Kills are still important, but taunts, gloating, and tricks are also part of what determines how well you do.

Mark of the Ninja

Mark of the Ninja is the latest game by Klei Entertainment, the people that brought you the Shank games and Eets. It's basically like a 2D Tenchu game, meaning it's got ninjas and stealth. It looks fairly badass.

Raven's Cry

Raven's Cry is a swashbuckling pirate game. As you can see from the live-action trailer, it's not really helping dispell the stereotype of the bloody E3 trailer.
