I discovered that too. Work is actually worse about taking away game time than school is.

Oh man, that takes me back. Nod artillery is only slightly more robust than a minigunner so a humvee or two should be enough to keep them from shelling your base. They also don't start attacking until a good ways in to the mission; it wouldn't be hard to have a war factory up by then.

Nod artillery is almost like the the GDI missile launchers. Good and powerful from a distance, but very weak armor.

Anyways, making good progress. Completed GDI Mission 12, and will be starting 13, with brand new *advanced* buildings.

Game speed increase is still very useful

I beat mission 10 pretty handily thanks to finding a back way into his base and stealing his contruction sight, numerous silos and power plants and his airbase, rendering his defences a bit useless. I built a hand of nod, and the flame troops from that dealt with most of the aftermath. I had a team of 4 Orcas too which made quick work of anything not near his base (to avoid SAM sites) including the numerous turrets. I found building adequate defences similarly easy too, as I moved east from the starting point, away from the ridge I was attacked from before and blocked the eath pathway with sandbags so my harvester could harvest unmolested in the top corner.

Now I'm on the rescue Delphi mission in Greece, and I got wiped out. So many flame troops came rushing at me which i wasnt expecting, destroying my measly army of grenadiers. Next time I'm gonna pump out a factory before any barracks, comm centres or the likes, and build vehicles to deal with them instead.

The more you know, eh?

Yeah, in general you'll find if you can get your base defenses to a certain point you'll be fine, as the enemy attacks are highly scripted. So if you have sufficient defenses for each point they try to attack and for the forces they send in attacks you can sit behind the defenses all day and build up a force.

Mission 12 is pretty hard to get started, but mission 13 isn't as bad. Mission 14 is extremely cathartic (you have overwhelming force) and mission 15 is the final, so the enemy base is a real tough nut to crack.

Going to attempt mission 13 shortly (bio-chemical plant take out), and hope it won't be that bad. Can't wait to see GDI's new super weapon.

I beat mission 11 ( the rescue Delphi mission) using advanced strategy. I built two refineries early so I could pump out some turrets before NODs first wave of flametroops, followed by a war factory and 18 tanks. Then I walked right on through the base leaving a trail of destruction in my wake. Not many things stop 18 tanks.

That's what I had to do, except I had only about 10 of them.

Completed missions 13 & 14, and now I'm at the very last one. Looks like there's a lot to be concerned with here, so hopefully can get through it quickly.

so I'm not officially throwing in the towel or anything, but I've barely touched C&C this month. Turns out I don't think I'm much of a fan of RTS games. Go figure.
