I agree 1 and 3 are the best one was great and 2 was just bigger and better as for 3. Well i liked it alot but it seems more glichy then the others also the levels are not the best layout and it seems almost as if another developer jumped in on that one

Polls like this are tough: Individually, all of these games are pretty damn good.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

It was a tough call, but I guess I'd say DKC2 would be my favorite. That soundtrack. Oh my. And nothing beats Squitter the Spider, yo.
That said, DKC3 is when the series got kiddy. Literally.

I haven't played the Gameboy games to be honest, but I think Diddy's Kong Quest is best of the SNES bunch. The first game was great, but the second did everything better: the levels, the atmosphere, the music, the variation in gameplay, the secrets, the difficulty, etc. It's a perfect example of a great sequel. By the time of Dixie's Double Trouble things were getting a bit stale though. I also didn't like the level design as much as the first two games.

I don't mind Kiddy Kong, but I think it would be really fun if some one hacked DKC3 to play as Donkey instead of Kiddy. They both have the same attributes compared to Diddy and Dixie, so I think it would work out. I don't know how hard of a hack job that would be though. I think some sprite frames could be used straight out of DKC1, but some would have to be drawn (like how Kiddy picks up and throws Dixie). And the monkey sounds would have to be switched as well but I don't know if you can simply copy and paste them from DKC1. Too bad it'd be kinda impossible to replace Dixie with Diddy though, since parts of the game are built around Dixie. But I think playing DKC3 with Donkey and Dixie would be really fun.

Well, if a talented artist would be able to give Diddy sprites for flying with his DK64 jetpack, they use those as an equivalent to Dixie's downward glide. The physics wouldn't be changed, he'd only use it as a way of slowing his fall, not gaining height.

I'm going to have to go with DKC3. I'm biased, since it was my introduction to the series, as well as one of the first games I ever owned, but I feel that it has the most imaginative levels, the best music, and the most creative bosses.

DKC2 hands down, 1 and 3 are amazing games on it's own but 2 was the one to get thing right. Great level design, charismatic characters, and THAT soundtrack. There are some levels on DKC 1 and 3 that i feel are cheap and in DCK 2 everything feels perfect.
I though of this so many times, it would be really cool to see Dixie and Donkey Kong working together.

You had a fine childhood my friend

I'm kind of like you too. Only with DKL3. But still the little brother made me love its big brother

I actually liked the first one the most. Probably because I played it first. I still remember reaching that underwater stage as a kid for the first time. I was in awe at the great swimming sprites and fantastic music.
