What you don't understand that for however different we think we are (and with all the infighting with the crisis), Europeans actually DO have a lot of stuff in common (specially when it comes to culture).
So when you think that all the world is making fun of you, it really is a collection of countries making fun of a collection of states.
BUT it's exactly the same thing YOU guys do, only because we are many countries you usually pick 1 target at a time (a little French retreat joke here, a British tea with fish and chips stereotype there, Nazi joke, Greeks taking it in the ass (or being broke
) joke, Spaniards.....well no you don't make jokes about them cause you think they are a town in Mexico
).
So it's not the entire world ganging up on you. It's just 500 million people who speak different languages doing the same thing 300 million people who speak the same language were doing all this time. Making fun of each other.
Which is alright. Clearly we have different cultures and find a lot of stuff about each other's culture super weird. Don't we find a lot of stuff about Asia weird? Don't we tease the Japanese about hentai and tentacle porn all the time?
What you think is hate, is just teasing of American military tradition by a union which had the benefit of not needing to fight a war in the past 70 years.
So go now and make a joke about us drinking wine and eating strange shaped bread, while we make fun of you guys naming the most popular sport in the world something else.
