I tried to not put anything that was just a remodeled version or is an add-on. PC Engine Duo was the only one I missed.Breetai wrote:You missed a bunch.pepharytheworm wrote:NEC:

I really think Nintendo ought to change the name of the Wii U. I was talking to a girl yesterday who was telling me about the new controller that's coming out for the Wii. Seems to me people don't realize it's a whole new system.

Re: CNN Fails at Gaming
Seems Nintendo is putting too much faith into the name recognition of the Wii and forgetting just how big of a pop culture icon their company is here in the states. A lot of people my age (21), I've noticed, are really starting to bust out their N64's again and play through their favorites.
The current gaming scene is also being slammed as stale left and right. I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't want to further differentiate their proclaimed (pardon the pun) game-changing product in a market that so desperately craves something fresh.
Hell, I'd even be pleased with it just being called the Nintendo U. Are they that scared after what happened with the Gamecube? Are they really that attached to their Mii idea? I don't mind the name personally, but there's no reason to not take note of the confusion with this thing.

Re: CNN Fails at Gaming
First off, I can't believe I read through this thread's pointless argument.
Personally, I hate the Wii U name. Other systems get by due to the number (Xbox 360, Playstation brand) or that the different thing is in front (Super Nintendo).
But the subname in Wii U is not typically regarded as an upgrade, and on top of that it just sounds stupid. "Wii U." There are definitely other stupid names for consoles, but I feel like this one is the worst. It's just so bad sounding outloud, and I can barely take it seriously.
Plus I can just hear the comments on it once it's out, especially since I'm still in high school.
I don't give a crap about those comments personally, but it's more material for people to hate isn't a good thing.

It's even worse when you keep saying it repeatedly- try it and you'll find out why I've nicknamed it the "Nintendo Siren".Pichu wrote:It's just so bad sounding outloud, and I can barely take it seriously.
