:) - Gamecube cases are very well-designed, as I found out that you can put the memory card in with the game (!)

 - The backlash I'm gonna get about my "one-generation behind" rule and "YOU JUST DISCOVERED THAT?"

Man, a "one-generation behind" rule is no defense, Gamecube is edging on two generations old at this point :P .

This will blow your mind, but most Ps2 cases have memory card holders as well.

Why have I not abandoned my GameTZ account yet? I don't think I've gone a day without being pissed off at something someone has said or done there since the day I signed up.

Both have something to be wary on the disc holders.

PS2 Memory Card Holder Case
Unlike most cases where you hold in the center while removing a disc, the PS2 has a press then release to allow the disc to pop clear. If the center is held while the disc is raised, the hooks can still catch the center of the disc with a risk of cracking.

Gamecube Case
The holders just grab the disc too tightly. I file all mine down a little so the disc does not flex upon removal.

Speaking of Memory Card holders, the Gamecube holder can easily be opened up with a dremel tool to accommodate the larger cards for Action Replay and SD Media Launcher.

I agree, it's a tight squeeze - but i've never had any issues, certainly not to the point of breaking out a file

I hate them. A disc flexing upon removal was enough to convince me to break out the nail file. That loud snap that made my teeth grit when returning the disc is now a soft click sound.

I've had to break out a file once. I got a brand-new DC controller from Salvation Army one time, and stuck my jumper pack inside. Then it wouldn't come out, no matter how hard I pulled and how much pressure I put on the button. Turned out that the little tabs that hold stuff in the expansion slot were just big enough that they wouldn't let stuff go.

TICKED TICKED TICKED
Pacman lost the fight, even when he threw the most landed punches.
