Guilty Gear 2 is comming. Im sure you will be as disappointed as I was to find that... not only is it not 2D, but it is not a fighting game either!

That does look nice.

I always hoped that they do another JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. I'd imagine you could really make it look nice on one of todays consoles.

Ummm...wasn't it released last November? Oh, maybe you mean the NA release this fall? Indeed a RTS/action game is not exactly what I wanted in Guilty Gear 2.

I looked it up. And it seriously made me ill. Where's my Robo-Ky? Why can't I attack with the flying tricycle?

Honestly I am surprised it is being released in the States, and after almost a year!

It's nice to have developers try new things, but calling it Guilty Gear 2 has always seemed mighty strange. Guilty Gear Gaiden would be better.

It was a garbage decision and it seems to me you go to easy on them, Doc. :D

Are they going to be putting out another fighting game that you know about but I dont?

Probably not...however, since the release of Guilty Gear 2 last year they have continued to update Guilty Gear XX with new versions on PS2 and PSP in the past few months.

While I don't know anything about a new Guilty Gear fighting game from ASW, they have been plenty busy in the past year working on these fighting games for the arcade and home consoles in Japan:

Battle Fantasia (PS3, 360) May 2008
BlazBlue (PS3) December 2008
Sengoku Basara X (PS2) June 2008

Now if only we'd get them over here. Good 2D fighters are few and far between nowadays. I met a guy in my apartment complex last night who plays about as much as I do in fighters, and we had a long talk, both about the lack of good fighters coming out, and about how few people actually play fighters anymore, especially 2D ones. It seems the American market for them is disappearing. It's sad to see a genre go, especially one that could quite possibly be considered king of the arcade scene in the early 90s. Now most of the big names are shooters or older franchises...and that's too bad.
