Your opinion on the Syberia series

Post by RCBH928 »

Hello,

GOG has an offer $10 for the 2 syberia games . At this this price I thought I could buy them and download them and play them some other time . I just want your opinion on the series, because I have a history of buying games that LOOK good but not necessarily a fun game.

Also I would like to know if there are any sequels because I get mixed up between Syberia, Longest Journey, and Indigo Prophecy. I hear one of them was sequel to the other.

I am sure this was discussed before, but because this is going to be instant buy I can't go through all discussions. The deal is for the weekend only

I don't know much about Syberia, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with Indigo Prophecy.

I played the first Syberia and really liked the part I played, but I never got very far. I've got to give it another go at some point.

The only real sequel is Syberia II, although I just looked it up on Wikipedia and apparently there's another game set in the same universe called "Amerzone."

The designer, Benoît Sokal seems like a really interesting guy but it seems like most of his non-videogame work is tough to find in the US.

Is this the same Syberia I see at game stores for the Xbox? I usually see it for a couple dollars - worth it?

I loved the first one and liked the second. I played both on the Xbox. Hopefully they will release the 3rd one soon. If you like adventure games like Broken Sword give it a whirl.

Syberia is a solid adventure franchise. Don't expect miracles and let yourself be immersed in the fine artwork. The ending to the sequel was fantastic, but it left a few aspects unresolved.

There are two games in the Syberia series I and II. It's not related to the other games you mention.

I think they are ok, but nothing special. I would only play them if you have already tried all of the most well known offerings.

Hmmm...
I guess I'll buy just the first one them to try out ... if its interesting i'll pick up on the second which shouldn't be too expensive even if I miss this offer.

Is there a connection between Dream Falls and indigo prophecy or the longest journey

Dream Fall is the sequel to The Longest Journey.

Indigo Prophecy (or Fahrenheit outside the US) is not directly connected to any other games. It was made by Quantic Dream though, and was the precursor to Heavy Rain in terms of gameplay.
