Wow, wow!

I do not think Blizzard is going to suffer from this, they have plenty of economical experience with WoW and they have surely gotten economists working on this.
The farmer is...scary.
BTW, the "Warden" is Blizzard's anti-cheat program.

Will fire up the video in a bit, just read the top blurb. So shackling everyone to the server to prevent cheating and controlling the auction house for money seems like it is smoothly working out I guess.

Unless you have a team of bots or chinese in your basement, along with a website for selling the virtual goods, you wont get far alone.

People are already doing it, so that screws up the game economy and shows that so far Blizzard's effort to curb things isn't working. Unless of course they really don't care at all and just want a piece of the pie when the auction house opens and they start collecting transaction fees.Hazerd wrote:Yes, im just saying that if you want to start doing this, its not easy.

Re: Interview with a Chinese Gaming Farmer
I've heard of these Diablo III "auction houses" in passing, but having never played any of the Diablo games I don't really know what they are. Can someone fill me?
Re: Interview with a Chinese Gaming Farmer
The Auction House that uses in-game gold is a lot like an auction house in World of Warcraft. Users can put up an item in an in-game eBay style auction and have people pay for it via in-game gold. Diablo III is going to have a "real-life" auction house that people can buy in-game items with real money, that Blizzard gets a cut of.noiseredux wrote:I've heard of these Diablo III "auction houses" in passing, but having never played any of the Diablo games I don't really know what they are. never played WoW either, so very new to me. So um... really? Pay real money for in-game items? Items that you can get by just playing the game? Why is that something people want to do?
