The other thing is that if you format your D drive as NTFS that locks out older OS's from being able to read it.

For the record, I haven't had any trouble with my 6850 or the drivers. Don't be too scared of ATi.

In addition to the crappy drivers (which always install in a new folder, for some irritating/bizarre reason) my 6850 broke within 3 months of buying it, so I had to send it in.

What problems did you ever have with the drivers? I've had none, and now that I have this HIS (the PowerColor I had was crap) I've had no issues.

So I dunno. Just pick whatever you like OP.

This. While not perfect ATi (ahem, AMD) drivers might be slightly more problematic than nVidia, but not by much. I think the driver headaches get blown out of proportion. I'm running a pair of 7970's in crossfire with zero glitches or scaling issues. So far so good anyway...*knocks on wood*

For one, they're almost impossible to completely uninstall without doing a format. Seriously. Wouldn't be a problem, but I switched to Nvidia for a while after I sent my old card in... The corrupted files that were left behind by AMD's horrible uninstaller caused issues with my Nvidia card. Manually deleting them didn't work either. If that's ok with you, you don't know very much about computers.

I didn't have a problem. While waiting for this 6850 I uninstalled my AMD drivers and reinstalled my 8600 + drivers.

Again, I had no issues. You may have had some but, a lot of people don't.

Also, I don't see how being okay with something means I don't know much about computers. That's like saying somebody knowing Steam is DRM and still using it means they don't know much about consumer rights. :roll:

And a lot of people did and still do. Look up "RAGE AMD drivers" and get to reading. I have nothing else to say on the matter, because it's well-documented and widespread.

@Xeogred: Here's the case I have, I don't have any more pictures.
