Ok first off I have a Japanese Saturn. I downloaded an English iso of Panzer
Dragoon saga (in Bin/Cue Format). I converted the region to japanese.
Burned the disc at 4x speed with Alcohol 120%. I swapped the disc and was playing it for about 20 min with no problems. All of the sudden the game shuts off
and goes to the outerspace screen when there is no disc in the system. I'm thinking "wtf"?
Now every time I try to play the game, the intro(intro before you get to the title screen) is very choppy and out of sync. After the choppy intro the game shuts off to the outer space screen and says "Cd is not suitable for system".
(At least that's what I think it is but I cant read Japanese!)
But what hell is going on!? Has anyone heard of this before and knows how to fix it?
UPDATE: Guess What! For some reason I was just playing it perfectly for about 30 minutes. I got to the first boss battle in the game
(Arachnoth, or something like that) After I beat him the game booted back into the bios screen! I'm starting to think that something
went wrong when I burned the game because the first time I tried to burn the image the process failed halfway through. The second
time worked 100% but there could have been some errors. Not only that I'm trying to burn Dragon Force, the process finished 100% but its said failed to burn image!
Swap Trick works and everything but this....
Ok I got it to work (bin/cue btw) I converted the country code to Japanese and burned it successfully (This time I'm trying Dragon force.) I swap it in perfectly and the game says SEGA but then after the it boots me back to the Bios screen saying CD the rst in Japanese. (I'm assuming disc unsuitable?) How come this isn't working right?
Have you made sure to follow the steps outlined here http://madroms.free.fr/#SRP ? If not, you should follow these steps to ensure there are no issues with the patching. Also try different images if you are having trouble with one specifically. Also make sure your Saturn is able to play non-copied games for extended periods of time without this issue (most likely it can, but just make sure).
Unfortunately, quite a few things could cause an issue such as this. Try you best to eliminate variables so you can narrow down the problem area.

You may want to download a program called "CDMage". It will check the image for errors and correct them. These errors can cause problems during burning, and using this program can sometimes make bad image files work again. Anytime you change the region of a game, it's a good idea to check it with this program because errors will result from the change.
Here's a snippet from a write-up I did a while back on burning Saturn games:

You can download it here: http://madroms.free.fr/cdmage/CDmage1-02-1B5.exeStart CDMage and open the image you want to check. Click the Action menu button and "Scan for Corruption". In the "What to Search" prompt, search sector range from 000150 to 000151. If there is a problem with the image, it will find 2 errors. Towards the bottom of the program window there will be a tab with the word Errors on it. Click this tab and then select both errors. Right-click and select "Rebuild Sector Fields". Leave ECC and all the other stuff checked and click OK. You have just fixed the image.
