Playstation Dilemma
OK here's the deal.
My PS3 just died of YLOD disease. It would cost $250 to replace. I might just replace it but I would be surprised if the PS4 doesn't come out in 2013.
Meanwhile, I love handhelds. The Vita looks cool but jeez... by the time you buy the system, a decent size memory card, and god forbid.... a game, and we're talking about $350+ easy. Even after the Sony E3 conference the future looks.... uncertain.
What would you do fellow Sony fans? Spend $250 on a console that is likely less than a calendar year from being replaced? Or would you gamble on the unproven handheld with its overpriced memory cards?
Or should I just say screw it all and buy myself a Wii U for Christmas? Or is it time to start working on that gameboy/gbc collection I've been daydreaming about?

If you love handhelds and you don't have a PSP, you are missing out. And, it's still PlayStation! Heaven for an old school gamer.

Re: Playstation Dilemma
Call Sony and get a replacement. I believe it's about $150 out of warranty?
I'd vote for the PSP as well on the side. The library is already large and established, and since it's on it's way out, everything is dirt cheap. It has TV out unlike the Vita too, and with a comfy controller grip, it's great to use anywhere.
It also has a goldmine of JRPGs so if you love those, there's no question that you'd love the PSP.

Re: Playstation Dilemma
You guys are going to laugh at me...
I was a PSP owner, played many games on it, and sold it to buy my 3DS.
I guess I could buy another one...

I bought mine used many years ago for like $60 bucks. One of the best investments I ever made. I probably use it more than any other system I own, and I have a lot of systems.

Re: Playstation Dilemma
I'd either repair the PS3 or get another. PSP is kinda boring, Vita's not worth getting yet, and I wouldn't want to wait for the PS4.

I doubt the Ps4 will play Ps3 games, so you're probably better off replacing your ps3 anyway.

Knowing Sony they would release the entire PS3 catalog in "3D" or something like that. So if i were you i'll buy a new PS3.AppleQueso wrote:I doubt the Ps4 will play Ps3 games, so you're probably better off replacing your ps3 anyway.
