You mean the Fat Princess super chicken attack didn't sell you? Sony has never really had any interesting and/or defining mascots. And yeah Smash Bros isn't all that exciting unless you have a group of friends to play with.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:That said, I really couldn't care less about either series. It's because they've never made the mascots themselves. It's always been 3rd parties. Crash was as close as we ever got, but then it got sold off. Nintendo is the only company besides Sega to really be able to form and hold onto a mascot.brunoafh wrote:You mean the Fat Princess super chicken attack didn't sell you? Anyways, Nintendo has basically already won the show and they haven't even done their conference yet. The only thing I've been remotely interested in so far from the other 2 is Last of Us.
Lame.
Older. Not wiser.

Re: E3 2012
So far the games that have peaked my interest the most are Watch Dogs and Last of Us.
That Last of Us demo was very :O
It's nice to see something with more ... realistic expectations of a fight. Not a thousand guys with shotguns. It looks like it takes some skills to survive encounters, which is cool. Also it makes the violence that happens even more brutal since it's much more rare and up close and personal. When he slammed that guys face into the dresser then made the other guy eat a shotgun round ... that was very brutal.

That works out great for me since I spend a lot of time in airplanes and on the toilet.
Sometimes both at the same time!

And that's why I don't have a Vita yet, and why it took so long to buy a PSP.WallCrusher wrote:For some reason, this is what Sony seems to think handhelds are all about.brunoafh wrote:I fail to understand Vita's existence. Every game is just a PS3 game port, and/or vice versa.

So Vita is basically like a Sega Nomad, except the Nomad didn't require you to buy your genesis games twice.
Re: E3 2012
That Wonderbook thing looks awful. I don't think I saw a single person asking the big 3 for more gimmicks, but I guess we got them.

There have been a few independently funded attempts, actually. OpenPandora comes to mind and there are a few others, but none of them ever really got off the ground or became popular enough.ZeroAX wrote:Why? Oh, well.
Seems like when we do get open consoles most people just want to slap a ton of emulators on them anyway.
EDIT: oops, looks like I read ZeroAX's post wrong
