Ys: The Oath in Felgana and Ys: Origin coming to Steam

Ys Origins was released today. Did anybody pick it up?

I want to, but I've spent a lot on games this month, so I'm holding back until a later date.

The game is great so far. The combat is fast-paced and satisfying, and the bosses are creative and fun (but VERY challenging).

Finished Felghana's fan translation ages ago, might tackle Origin later in the summer.

why wouldn't you just use your 360 controller?

oh man! started playing origins today. it's so refreshing to see these types of games released on pc, I'm using a psx controller which is soooo much easier than using keyboard and mouse. now i'm going back to get my level grinding on..lol

I use the COD black ops Xbox controller. The stick is fine for the game. I never touched the dpad.

If there's such a thing as an analog arcade stick, then that would be your best option for this game. The analog stick really helps with precise movements, which are VERY necessary for boss fights, and there are many times when you need to hold down the special attack button (X on the 360 controller) while attacking and jumping (A & B, respectively). On a standard controller, you can see how this might be a problem.

I've never played a Ys game. I assumed it was similar to the top-down Zeldas. I'll have to give my 360 pad a try.
