Original IP of E3 2012

Post by J T »

I mostly find sequels to be uninteresting news. What I want to know about are new games. I made a thread like this last year.

I just want to catalogue all of the new original titles as they are announced.

Here's the first I've seen:

Ascend: New Gods

This looks like a bloody 3rd person action game. It looks pretty typical to me, though there looks to be some interesting, almost satanic-looking art direction. Somehow you are able to use a Windows 7 phone with your Xbox 360 for this game.

MS announced a new API called SmartGlass that allows you to sync a touch device (Windows 8, WP7, Android, and iOS were mentioned) with your 360 and pipe information to/from them (I assume via an app).
So, a lot of what Nintendo has shown for the Wii U, for free, provided you already have the devices.

Yeah!

Actually, it's worth looking through last year's thread because a lot of those games were never released. I wonder how many are still in production and how many got canned...

Why is there a "Grumpy Ducks" game where you catapult ducks into warthogs?

If so, that definitely counts.

Twisted Pixel has a new game with futuristic motorbikes. Not much to know about it now, but maybe the next Extreme G?

So what are the odds on Nintendo coming out with a new IP? 30 to 1?

I'd say a new IP is fairly likely, but a good new IP is not. Probably something along the lines of Wii Music or Wii Fit.
