Bubsy 2 - Misprint on spine?

I picked up a complete copy of Bubsy 2 on the Genesis today, and after placing it on the shelf I noticed it had no text on the spine where the title usually exists, it's just red. The developer logo is up on the top however.

I've taken a look around and every other image I can find on the internet has the title in place as usual. Have I picked up a misprint? Is it due to Accolades move to the clamshell and not really getting it right? (no hangtab, larger cart holder)

Could be a bootleg or just a reprinted cover.

I'm reluctant to believe either. The artwork is the exact same quality as any other red spine game I have in terms of both printing and stock used.

My guess is that it might just be a mistake for the first print run.
I'm reminded of Astal, which doesn't have the game's name on the spine (and probably only had one run).

But I don't really know what's up with it.
