Anniversary remake hands down. Uses the new engine from Crystal Dynamics and control scheme. The original with the way the graphics are and controls make for a pretty unplayable game, IMO. I've recently played the Saturn version for those wondering.

EDIT: Of course this would be neglecting that I assume the PS1 version would use the dual analog which may help in the control dept.

though I'm kind of interested in replaying the original from a nostalgic standpoint, I really think the remake looks impressive.

Play it for a few minutes, say to yourself: "Man, I remember when this was the sh*t!" and then go play Anniversary and have fun. :D

Got another one for ya, guys. I'm looking into collecting all the Ridge Racers, and I wanna start with the ones that I can most easily get my hands on.

So, which version of R: Racing Evolution is the best? GameCube or PS2? I'd assume GameCube because..it is GameCube, but i dunno. Any advantages over one or the other or are they pretty much identical?

I'm pretty sure R: Racing Evolution is almost nothing like Ridge Racer in general. RR is basically an arcade Racer, where Racing Evolution is going more for Gran Turismo style realism.

I know what it is, but it's still technically part of the series. I just wanna know if there's any difference between the two versions

So I had the SNES version of Captain America and The Avengers. I got it thinking the SNES version would be better, because the majority of the time SNES multiplats are better than the Genesis ones (most being the key word, I know there are exceptions).

But when I played it, I was less than impressed. It was a far cry from the arcade version.
One thing I remember in particular about the SNES version that I didn't like was the controls seemed a tad delayed. So I traded it away. But lately I've been hearing praise about the game online, particularly the Genesis version.

Does anyone here know if the Genesis version is better than the SNES version? What makes it better? Is it closer to the awesome arcade version?

The GameCube one has some extra filters, but they looks pretty much identical - meaning, acceptable for a 2001 ps2 game. Both have 480p and 16:9 widescreen, so it mostly depends on your controller preference. And the PS2 version is a little cheaper.

Thanks man, I'll probably go for the PS2 version if they look the same then. What do you mean by filters, you mean like anti-aliasing?
