R4DS
R4DS
What are peoples opinions. I am interested in emulating games (NES, SNES, Gameboy, GBA and DS) on the DS. What type of flash cart should I get, the R4 or the M3? Also, where can I buy such an item? Ebay?

Re: R4DS
I suppose you meant the games you want to play in it, as you don't need to emulate DS or GBA on the DS. In order to run GBA games from a slot 1 device you will need something extra as well. The choice of cart isn't that relevant for emulation as far as I know, all slot 1 carts with automatic DLDI patching are equivalent as far as that is concerned I think.fox099 wrote:What are peoples opinions. Gameboy and NES are very well emulated by the DS, this site has articles about those two already (it is not a coincidence those were the two first put up). The SNES emulation isn't that good (I'm spoiled by the PC level emulation perhaps), depending on which titles you want to emulate.
Dealextreme doesn't have CycloDS (not surprising, as CycloDS is made in Europe - I doubt they could make a cheaper price than Euro or U.S. sites as it's not made in Asia).nick944 wrote:Get a CycloDS Evolution, you'll never regret getting one even if it costs more. It has the best support and many extra features. The best place to order from is realhotstuff.com if you want fast shipping, and if you want a cheaper price and don't care how long shipping takes dealextreme.com
I also think getting a CycloDS Evo is a good choice, and we know Racket also has one...
Well it seems like the CycleDS Evo is the chip to get. My next question would be do I need to put emulators and stuff on the MicroSD card? How do people that own something like it enjoy it?

I'd get the M3 mainly because it was a better value (when I bought it). I also don't know if the R4 or the CycloDS have any bundles. Here's two reviews of the M3.fox099 wrote:Well it seems like the CycleDS Evo is the chip to get. My next question would be do I need to put emulators and stuff on the MicroSD card? To answer the quoted question, yes you do need to put emulators on the MicroSD card. The M3 has some built-in emulators for the NES, SMS, and PCE, but those suck.
I'm not sure what you mean by "How do people that own something like it enjoy it?", but I'll try to answer.
I tried to explain how to use it and what I like to do on it. Hope that helps, if it didn't, I'm sorry you wasted your time reading this.
