If you don't mind cart only and like RPGs, get Dragon Warrior III. IMO it's the best RPG on the platform and I'm seeing it on eBay for $15, totally worth every penny.

I was in your position last year. I ended up with the Game Boy Color.

The original gameboy's screen is virtually unplayable. I don't know how we managed back in 1990. The GBASP is okay, but I don't like how the carts stick out, and I have no desire to play GBA games. Also, if you get a backlit model, the screen is slightly blurry during movement. Also, the viewable area when playing a Game Boy game is smaller than on any of the regular Game Boy models.

The Color is the right fit. It's light, only uses two batteries which last a very long time, and plays every Game Boy game. The screen is extremely clear, with no blurring, and is easy to see with regular indoor lighting or outside.

Just wanted to put my two cents in here.

Definitely go for the Castlevanias, Mega Mans and the Wario Lands. Honestly they're about the only GB/GBC games I care to play myself. XD

I always recommend the Color because it's comfortable to hold. Just take a look at mine, I play this little guy all the time, even in no light situations (thanks to this handy LED light/cover).

That light you have actually doesn't look half bad. I had one of those cheapo Pelican light things back in the day and it was still atrocious xD

Even though I recommended to the OP a GPASP, I will readily admit that it's quite uncomfortable compared to the GBC (or even the first GBA). GBA SP would still be my first choice, but GBC with a light is very near second. Then you have to think about colors! I have a teal one, and my girlfriend has the same atomic purple one that xan_racketBOY_fan has.

That's personal preference man, their resell value is more or less the same so it doesn't really matter, as long as you like it. Personally I like the Teal one but alot of people really like Kiwi Green. Also if you get one at the fleamarket ask the seller if you can try it to make sure it works. Take a couple AA batteries with you incase they don't have any batteries to test with. I almost got jipped with a broken Game Gear but luckily I had batteries with me to test it.

Also around $20 is the average price on Amazon right now so try to get it a bit cheaper than that since it is the fleamarket afterall. :)

I just thought of something. All GBA stuff is 85% off at Gamestop. Soooo, if a used GBA SP is $24.99 List price, I wonder how much it would be. RUN!!
