What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Shane Black isn't really known for his directing, but the tone of Iron Man meshes perfectly with his writing. And the script is really what matters. On movies of this scale, a good amount of it comes down to the cinematographer and special effects team. So really, it comes down to how well he can interpret the script to screen, and seeing as he wrote the script. . .

Honestly, my thoughts on the matter just amount to this: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a damn good movie. I remain optimistic.

The Yellow Sea
Awesome crime/thriller drama that defies a few laws of physics and probability but comes out stellar nonetheless. Ultimately tragic, but no other outcome can be expected from man's exploitation of his own kind.

I love that movie myself. I actually think he's a good choice for this as Tony Stark's not so serious personality isn't a far cry from the tone of Kiss Kiss Bang Bangsabrage wrote:Honestly, my thoughts on the matter just amount to this: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a damn good movie. I remain optimistic.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh.
Jason Segel is directing GRUDGE MATCH, starring Sly Stallone and Robert DeNiro. It will be a comedy focusing on two sixty-somethings that still have some lingering issues that will be ironed out, in the square ring.
Can't say how excited I am about this.

Not something I ever even realized, but an interesting bit of trivia for Tarantino movies.

Basically, it explains how all of his movies exist in the alternate version of our historical timeline that is shown in Inglorious Bastards. Quentin has basically created his own parallel universe and set his movies into it, with the more unrealistic ones (like Kill Bill) representing the movies that people in that universe watch.
Just cool how his filmography has this continuity to it

That's awesome, Gamer. And a lot more elegant than something like Smith's View Askewniverse.
Think I'm gonna watch Basterds again tomorrow.

I've known this for a while about these connections, but they missed some I've personally made. RANGER EARL!!! He's in many of the movies, and is an oddly invincible character. They mentioned the ciggarettes, but failed to mention Big Kahuna burger, which is in at least two movies. (Pulp Fiction and Dusk till Dawn, for sure, and for some reason I think a bag appeared in the background in Kill Bill. Big Kahuna Burger is a real place with an Austin location, for those who don't know.) Now, I will include Planet Terror, because Tarantino had his hand in it. The GoGo club owner is also in the Mariachi films. At the end of From Dusk till Dawn, they show that the bar is built into the top of a Mayan temple. I believe this may be a similar temple in Planet Terror.Gamerforlife wrote:Not something I ever even realized, but an interesting bit of trivia for Tarantino movies.
