I have the movie, so I figured since I finally found the book (one of the best $0.25 I've ever spent) I should read it.

It was a very quick read, probably in the realm of 3-4 hours, but I've been told I read slowly, so perhaps shorter for others. As I was reading it I couldn't help but be reminded of old fairy-tales. So to me it felt new and nostalgic at the same time. It put a real smile on my face After I was done I realized that the movie was a pretty faithful adaptation, with the one main exception being Wyborn "Wybie" Lovat and his family. They and anyone associated with them, don't appear in the book.

I also love Gaiman. Neverwhere, American Gods, and Stardust are all fantastic, as are the short story collections.

I've been meaning to read Anansi Boys, I need to get on that.

Shouldn't be a problem! I expect I'll enjoy it, but other than that I'll be going in with an open mind.

So far the only other books of his I've read are Neverwhere and Stardust. I really liked both of them. I've been meaning to read American Gods and Anansi Boys myself....Once I re-locate my books.....I swear they're around here somewhere....

We have a few Gaiman books around here. Stardust, Anasi Boys, The Graveyard Book, Coraline... I haven't read any of them myself, but I have read most of his Sandman stuff and absolutely love it. If it's anything like that, I imagine i'm in for a treat.

As strange as it sounds, I rarely get to read books during the academic year as I spend most of my reading time engrossed in mountains of journal articles, doing my own writing, or reading student work. So my reading list has really just gotten off the ground in the past couple of weeks, and so far:

3. Racing the Beam - Nick Montfort and Ian Bogost
4. A Slow Year: Game Poems - Ian Bogost

Since I am working on a book for a game studies series, expect to see lots of gaming-related books pile up here in the future. I also have some fiction I want to get to in the near future, including some Crichton and Asimov: hopefully June will allow for that, and I am going to try and use my long E3 flight times to read some fiction on the iPad.
