I was playing it last week (emulated) because I've been reading Chasing The Beam. It's definitely a bad port, but taken as its own game it's at least interesting. It's weird to have the game screen landscaped for one thing. It's like playing a totally different game. The flickering ghosts are something to see of course haha. Though my biggest complaint is how unforgiving the hit detection is.

Totally. I would never consider it a "bad" game, it's just inferior to the arcade version. If it was a stand-alone 2600 title no one would have a problem.

Ms. Pac Man is probably the best Pac title on the system.
I didn't care for Jr. Pac Man all that much.

Be sure to get Stargate/Defender 2 and Solaris. Probably the two best games on the system.

Yeah I noticed that. The cart connector is REALLY nice and solid. I'll keep an eye out for those games you mentioned too!

I don't know if I'd consider the Pac-Man port a good game on its own merits even. It's just clunky and weird.

Of course my thing also came with a copy of E.T., so I guess I've already done far worse. KINDA AFRAID TO PLAY THAT ONE.

It has problems but overall you'll probably just go "meh" and put it back on the shelf.

It's hard to get mad with Atari games when they only cost like 75c.

Th pits are the pits. Move slightly the wrong way and you drop back in for a tedious head stretching hover out. With a decent stick with microswitches, its easy to hover well clear of the pits before setting down.

ET doesn't deserve the reputation it has.

Yeah, other stuff like that too. Hmm, maybe Japan is to blame for all of the errant apostrophes these days.

...Diablo is still lagging. F this, I'm playing Torchlight. 1-2 seconds lag in a game that kills you in 1-2 seconds.... Just awful.
