Good review. I think he was a little rough expecting too much by comparing to an Arcade Level Control Panel, but then again MadCatz labeled it as an Arcade Gamestick which is maybe misleading. So true about the 80s Joysticks, the base is a pain to hold in marathon gaming. Nice surprise that there is a Paddle/Spinner built in, I wonder if other owners had better luck with it.Hobie-wan wrote:Required watching.

I got one of those Madcatz joysticks as a gift; I have to say that in my experience, it was very awkward and uncomfortable to use.

Mark is pretty lenient in his reviews of things. If there is enjoyment to be found, he'll point it out in games, accessories, and such that he reviews. I usually agree with him as long as it is a genre or item that interests me in the first place. Sticks like the US Saturn Virtua Stick and that huge Ascii PS1 stick, he likes just fine where most stick users (especially modern fighter afficianados) would consider garbage. If Mark thinks that thing is 'meh', then even I'd stay away unless I was getting one for a couple of bucks.CRTGAMER wrote: Good review. well even if it does suck, I'm still interested in it for the novelty. And because it looks awesome. Hell, even if I'm spending a few bucks on it as a decoration, I'm ok with that. No idea what they go for at Gamestop as I can't find the sku anywhere to look it up, but if anyone sees one for say under $20 nab it for me, eh?Hobie-wan wrote:Mark is pretty lenient in his reviews of things. The built in Spinner really catches me as a great feature, I wish there was one for the PS2 with standard compatibility of all the games. The video review Hobie linked gave it poor marks, but still worth a try. I suspect it emulates the Analog stick so maybe not a true instant encoder control? Maybe the Spinner would improve in movement if an adjustment in the game menu control sensitivity?noiseredux wrote:well even if it does suck, I'm still interested in it for the novelty. Mark's review video is from 2008, so presumably they were blown out long ago.noiseredux wrote:No idea what they go for at Gamestop as I can't find the sku anywhere to look it up

Merry Christmas, a PDF of the Joystick. THE SPINNER IS A FULL 360 DEGREES!

EDIT
Anyone contemplating on buying this, be sure to right click save that PDF in case MadCatz removes it later. I'm pretty sure Gamestop categorizes it as a used regular 360 controller. Thanks a lot noise, now I want one.

Remember looking for one of these "New" a couple years ago when GS was getting rid of them for $9.99. Correct me if I'm wrong but there was a code for 3 or 5 XBLA games. Such as Ms. Pac-Man, ect. Say the reviews and didn't want the stick but the free games seemed like a good deal.
But all to no avail ...
