Problem with Ultimate Fighter is that, at its core, it's a beat-'em-up. I originally had it on the list, thinking that it had appeared on lists of fighters so I would give it a shot. Bought it, played it, and realized that, if anything, it would belong on the same list as Turtles in Time. It does have a VS tournament, and a 1 on 1 mode against the CPU, but the real meat of the game is in its Story Mode and Animation Mode. Hence, I took it off.

It's always nice to hear from another fighter fan, though. I appreciate the heads up.

Ok guys, just ordered Pit-Fighter, King of the Monsters, King of the Monsters 2, and Power Moves off eBay. Hopefully they'll work when they get here.

Ok, I just got working copies of King of the Monsters 1 and 2! After playing for a bit, I honestly prefer the first one. Sure, I recognize some of the characters in the second from other places they've shown up(Cyber Woo in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, for instance), but I enjoy the straight-up fight in the first title more. Also, the controls feel better to me. But hey, this is just off initial impressions. I enjoyed what I played, so I may try some more later on.

Ok guys, got a debate for you. I've seen Super Godzilla for the SNES get labeled as Fighting, Action, and even Shoot-'Em-Up(I blame Gamespot for that one...). The game definitely has influences from fighters in boss battles, but the player must get Godzilla to navigate a maze of buildings and such before hand, in a bizarre puzzle system. Also, Godzilla can find hidden items as well as crush tanks, missile launchers, etc. And while I say the boss fights are influenced by fighters, they don't really feel like I'm playing a fighter...or at least, not a very good one. In fact, if I had to say they feel like anything, it would be the Ultraman fighting game, and that is not somewhere Godzilla wants to be...

Ok, Pit-Fighter and Power Moves came in today! And that pretty much wraps this up, since I've no intention of going for Super Godzilla. In the meantime, I'll make some kind of formal announcement in another thread...with pictures.
