I'm definitely a "non-Greatest Hits" person when it comes to my collection. So far I have zero GH versions of games where original versions exist.

But I actually like it when games are released that are exclusively GH. Games like Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution on PS2... or the additional content in the GH version of Silent Hill 2 on PS2. It's fun to have the occasional excuse to pick up a GH game.

So I'm fine with the Pikmin 2 "Nintendo Selects" thing. It's also the only way to get an official retail box for WiiSports.

I have the Mario Power Tennis "New Play Control" on Wii and it has a reversible cover. I thought Pikmin 2 for Wii had been out for years? It's £14 in the UK and fairly common. The Cube version however is still at least £20, which makes no sense.
I agree though, I dislike the cheap looking "Player's Choice" or whatever it is. Especially when they lose the disc art a la Platinum PS1 games.

America never got Pikmin 2 for the wii the first time around.

So long as this is Nintendo Selects exclusive in NA, I'll swallow my pride and grab it.
At least NS look nice compared to that ugly ass yellow "Player's Choice" on the Gamecube.

And I agree with the hope of driving down the GCN version down. I'd like to get a new one to replaced my scratched copy.

The worst type of bestseller's edition IMO are the early Xbox 360 Platinum Hits. They're the only type of bestseller I won't buy ever. They make GCN Player's Choice look attractive.

For a second I was going to say they aren't that bad, but then I saw the early ones. Man those are bad. Almost as bad as Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow's boxart in a boxart.

At least we're finally getting the darn game, even if it is just being used to help boost the sales of Pikmin 3. I haven't played Pikmin 2, but from everything I've heard about it is supposed to be way better than the original.

It is much better than the original. Also I'd think that the general public has forgotten what Pikmin is so they needed to put this reminder out.
