Missing my old game room... Ver 2.0 coming 2013

Post by 8bit »

I moved back home a while back to save money for a wedding and honeymoon so I have been with out my dedicated game room for a while now. Now that we are finally married, my new wife and I have decided to travel around the US for the next year while she does travel nursing. And even though we are both excited about traveling I cannot help but express my sadness over not getting a new game room anytime soon. So with a heavy heart I share a few pics of my old game room from a couple of years ago to remind me of the good ole days.

Welcome to the second bedroom of my last apartment....

I miss it very much but I hope to have it back and better than ever in just one short year!

I feel for you man!

I myself have a similar situation.

Pretty much about 85% of my stuff is in storage right now. A real estate opportunity came up and I had to move to a smaller place. I have no more room for all my "precious" :? I have an old thread here with my stuff shown off.

I'm still collecting though.

Once I get a bigger place and finish fixing up the various housing opportunities available to me, I will once again show off my things.

Enjoy what you have. and keep gaming!

I'm sure you guys will have fun traveling. Loosing that personal space sucks, though.

My wife and I are considering a similar situation next year, but we are still working out the details.

What are you doing (or have you done) with all your stuff? Storage?

I plan on selling off a chunk of stuff that's just taking up space. I have already gotten rid of a lot of items that I just don't want to carry around. I hope to get to a point where I can cram everything into two packing boxes and leave it at a relative's place until I'm ready to retrieve it.

Thanks man! No problem doing that! I'm enjoying old mega mans, yoshis island, and portal 2 (again) at the moment.

Agreed.... Seattle, LA, Chicago, and Denver will make it all worth it.

I've got accessories, guides, and collectables you see on the top of shelves in the pics in storage. The complete game collection and the bare systems themselves are at my grandfathers home (where we currently live) proudly organized and displayed.

Thanks for the compliment! Since moving home 18 months ago and having no rent to pay I've been able to add hundreds of quality games to the collection to round out each system nicely. I even bought one more of the exact same large bookcase for it all. The next game room will definitely need to be bigger but just as organized! ;)

Haha... good ole target slip covers!

The cocktail cab is ms pacman/galaga. :) Now I also have a clean 2 slot Neo Geo MVS cabinet rocking a 128 in 1 cart to add to the next game room!

My screen had stopped rolling up and down and was tearing a little at the top so I just let it go. And I just used the wall since it was flat and bright white that was not spackeled. The difference was hardly noticeable except on very bright movie scenes in the dark. Playing games was always too action packed to notice.

Okay. It kinda looked like the TV might block part of the projector if it didn't drop down in front of it... guess not. :)
