Haven't heard any word of a price drop for the Lite, so has Nintendo stopped making them? I moved past the Lite a while ago myself, but it's sad to think the last piece of hardware capable of playing GBA is possibly gone. If this is the case, it's like the final nail in the GBA coffin.

I haven't even seen a DS Lite in a Walmart or Best Buy here for at least 4-5 months. So yeah, I'd say it's dead.BoringSupreez wrote:Haven't heard any word of a price drop for the Lite, so has Nintendo stopped making them? Older. Not wiser.

Honestly? I sure hope so, because the prices for working DS Lite units on eBay are not at the price point I'd like them to be

Well, nintendo can still sell gba games in download form. They don't make any money in the secondary market so there is no more reason for them to support it.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I haven't even seen a DS Lite in a Walmart or Best Buy here for at least 4-5 months. Aren't there certain DS accessories that require the GBA slot though?GamerMON wrote:Well, nintendo can still sell gba games in download form. The Guitar Hero games, for starters.

DSi XL's are still going for $150+ $170+ NEW on Amazon, when i can go down to Target and buy a NEW one for $129, when are these sellers going to lower there prices?

It always takes the smaller vendors longer to notice the price drops.Hazerd wrote:DSi XL's are still going for $150+ $170+ NEW on Amazon, when i can go down to Target and buy a NEW one for $129, when are these sellers going to lower there prices?

At this point, YES!!!
Nintendo does want to push the 3DS on-line store, remember the Ambassador Program for "early adapters" where you get 20 games from NES and GBA (did anyone here get all 20 games?), that's the sign that Nintendo is letting the DS Lite sit in the dust (they have stopped production and let the retailer sell their remaining stock).
And no, I haven't seen any Target, Best Buy, and other stores carrying mib DS Lite; plus the in-store credit for trading-in for the DS Lite is lower than the DSi.
