What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Wow, I some how missed that ^ before and I wish I still hadn't seen it ... gross.

Played FF4 for a few hours this morning, then read some of a book about Atari, then went to work for a bit to talk about games research/gaming with a student and to follow up on emails with a few industry legends, then checked out some game sales at the local strip mall, then came home and played a new Vita game (Resistance). Most of the time in between all that was largely spent here. Tonight: more of all of the same :)

Frown: Giving it all a rest to make dinner :(

Smile: I'm making sushi :)
Very fun! I wish I was doing something similar. But instead:

Frown - I had the worst travel day ever yesterday night. Two ferry trips so we could visit our niece who is leaving for DC on Thursday. We left so the little ones would be sleeping during the ride home. The trouble started around 8:45pm, I got to the ferry in plenty of time for a 9:00 sailing. Oh wait I read the sailing time wrong it's 9:10, no biggie. 9:30 comes and we start loading the ferry, not sure why it was so late. 9:45 still haven't left the dock, apparently someone dropped a bag on the deck and walked away and in post-911 times, everyone freaks the heck out. 9:55 we finally set sail. All the while that this is happening my eldest (2.5 years old) is just jabbering away and won't be quiet (basically trying to keep herself awake, because otherwise she would just pass out). Finally get home at 11:30pm put the kids to bed, but the youngest won't go back to sleep. She's been teething something fierce and has no appetite and is just generally cranky. Finally get her to settle around 12:40am with a cup of warm milk. Then I got up at 5:15am to start the day.

Needless-to-say, I am going to bed ASAP tonight. No gaming for me. :(

Not ticked so much as blah. Today was a very long, very boring day.

On the plus side though, when I was running around this afternoon I happened to be down in Ryan's neck of the woods, and I stopped in at Level 7 Games for the first time. Nice place, really friendly employees. I was in and out pretty quick, but I bought a couple of games. Good stuff.

Which location? They're both pretty great, but the larger one has more of the obscure and weird stuff (3DO, Odyssey, etc.) as well as lots of PS1 goods.

Oddly enough the smaller one tends to have the best selection of Genesis stuff.

It was the one right on Alameda close to I-25. I'm assuming that's the smaller one?

I was impressed with what they had though. A nice selection of Saturn games in good shape too.

:D I beat Bowser in Tetris Attack! Certainly gave me a run for my money, easily one of the hardest challenges in a puzzle game I've had for a while.

Yeah, the larger one is up on Sheridan. They're basically my go-to games retailer at this point (at least for used stuff).

I'll have to check out that one on Sheridan next time I'm down there.

Definitely a cool place though, I can see why you like it. I'm glad I was finally able to stop in.

:) -- Found a user on YouTube who has uploaded a metric-ton of Nick Arcade episodes. I watched the show religiously when it was on. It also featured a lot of early 90s shmups like Air Buster, Thunder Force III, Ghost Pilots, Vapor Trail, Psychosis, and many more.
