The launch (Altered Beast versions) are region free or the ones that had "high definition" on the top of the systems are region free.

Yeah it isn't as widely known systems like Game Gear and PS2 are affected by such things.

I haven't heard of an extensive list which PS2 games have Japanese mode differences that can't normally be seen on western bios versions that lack the system setting. IIRC Rez, Shadow the Hedgehog...

Welcome to Racketboy. Here, we like to research things before posting false information. We also like to read previous posts in the thread before posting something that has already been correctly answered.

The Genesis consoles have nothing to do with region locking; not even the non-TMSS screen/HDG consoles. The region-lock is in the cartridges and did not appear until 1993. This does mean that Altered Beast is region-free.

Don't worry, I am hard an most new members who aren't on the ball.
