RPG's on PSP (portable machines)

Post by env963 »

I have found my calling! After taking a long hiatus from RPG's like 7 years, I have found my love for them again. My psp gets played everyday now. I just recently beat parasite eve (psone), Ys Seven, and now Crisis Core. I just loved the story in crisis core! And Ys's action was the best of all RPG's I have played. I just started replaying FF7 now!

I think the biggest problem Ive had all these years, is that it takes to long for the system to boot up and then play for 15 minutes try to find a save spot and repeat the next day. Sleep mode is freaking awesome! Play 15 minutes, put into sleep mode, turn it back on in 5 seconds and go. Someday I will probably get a Vita just because of the sleep mode feature.

Game on....

nice to see a psp rpg fan!

I played disgaea to death a few months ago. that game is real easy to put away to play later.

Jean d arc is good too.

One of the first RPGs that I beat for the PSP when I first got it was Ys: The Ark of Napishtim. It was okay but this early game is not everyones cup of tea.

The later games look cool too. But I havent played them yet.

The Disgaea games have some of the best RPG stories. At least 3 and 4. Still haven't played 1 and 2.

I just started Trails in the Sky recently. :)

PSP is an RPG powerhouse. I like the DS game library just a touch more, but the PSP games are prettier.

@flojocabron, the PSP version of Ys VI is a pretty crappy port unfortunately. It's quite good on PS2.

I played it first on the PSP. I have yet to find it on the PS2. Since I played the psp game first. I didn't notice anything too bad. I'm sure that if I played the other one before this one, I would have been dissapointed.

Another RPG that I need to get is Brave Story: New Traveler.

2nd on the sleep mode. Gotta love playing final fantasy tactics on the go. Being able to play for 10 minutes or an hour without hogging the tv helps with finishing. I am stuck in crisis core at the mansion. How the hell am I counting shit wrong? Oh well, I will get back to it eventually.

Unfortunately, you can't buy Brave Story for the PSN anymore (company went bankrupt). The only hope is to find the physical copy in the market which is going to be a bit tricky as they didn't mass produce this game.
