Why bash the Mega Drive for bad games all consoles that are successful have a a lot of crappy games not really a valid point and the limited sound chip well in some cases that might apply but it´s really only noticeable in some of the early games and the bad ones. And it´s worse than the virtual boy ? Im at loss for words

That list is bogus, genesis at #1 made me X off that site right away.

Aww so much hate for the poor virtual boy....honestly its one of my favorite systems ever, I own 12/14 US releases and I really enjoyed most of them. For some reason I feel really into the games when I cannot see a glimpse of light and all I see are red vectors and such. Not only that but most of the games are not as bad as people say they are. Sure we know Wario Land is amazing on VB, but others like Mario Tennis, Red Alarm, Vertical Force, Teleroboxer, and Jack Bros are some really decent titles. I am still wondering what drove me to pay over $70 for a boxed copy of Water World (yes that game is deserving of its bashings) but really I love my Virtual Boy

I also share love for the 32x, which also had its fare share of crap and gems, but if the list is meant to rate systems on how many of the crap games outweigh the great games, 32x would surely make that list.

Could have sworn there was already a thread made about this... :-/ Anyhow, Old-Wizard are known for their Nintendo fanboyism; they make controversial lists mostly for advertising purposes. They also put Sonic at number 9 on the Top Ten Worst Video Game Heroes of All Time, but that was only to make way for Kid Chameleon - can't remember where he was - and Tails at number 3.

Most people who have visited the site a few times before are aware that everything should be taken half-heartedly and never to take anything literally.

I believe they've just had some vehement arguments with Sega fanboys in the past and are letting off steam.

He would have hit the nail on the head if instead of calling them the worst, he called them commercial failures (with the exception of Genesis, which was just amazing). Dreamcast, Saturn, 32x, virtual boy all did poorly in the marketplace, so that would be understandable, but many could be replaced with the likes of the 3DO, CD-i, Pippin, Jaguar, NeoGeo, etc.

There is no way possible that the Genesis can even be consider to a failure or the worst of consoles. So many great games, pushed mainstream gaming into 16-bit, created great competition, etc. This guy must have a serious problem with Sega.

Seriously, why is the Genesis on the list? I can see how the other consoles can be seen as bad, but the Genesis? Sega had a majority of the market for most of the "Console War."

At first I just took him for ignorant for putting the Saturn and Dreamcast on there, but the Genesis too? Just because it doesn't outperform the SNES which was came out significantly later?

I guess the PS2 sucks because XBox games look better.

Chief, I'm much more a Nintendo fan in that generation, and I KNOW many of the Genesis ports were better than the SNES's.

I believe their most recent article says it all: "It is a well known fact that we here at Old Wizard aren’t big fans of Sega. Its number one on our top 5 worst consoles list. We have Sonic on our worst video game characters list, and have fielded piles of hate mail from the hordes of unkempt, uncouth, and rather ostentatious Sega fan boys."

They're seriously a bunch of whiny little kids. The purpose of this article was to 'investigate' the 'head of the Sega fanboys' and then bitch about how he doesn't own any Sega consoles. Ie. the guy was a Nintendo fan who thought Sega deserved more credit than they were giving it.

Pretty pathetic losers. Sometimes I get riled up about the pro-Sega comments you guys make here, and how you'll start trashing some of my favorite consoles from other companies, but honestly, most of you will at least take the time to check the console out and be(relatively) polite about it.
