What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Smile: BBQ with friends all afternoon.

Frown: I think I'm a little cooked as I was outside the better part of yesterday and today. I'm pooped.

You guys have no clue what shape the grill grate is in. The handles on the side of the grate, and the grate is so brittle itself that it is falling apart.

Anyways, it rained almost all day yesterday so the party was brought inside.

"My grill grate has rust on it" is a bit different from "My grill is crumbling rust" sir.

The black mark has been stricken from the record and you have permission from the acquisition department to procure a replacement.

In my defense, I will state that said parties and commentators of subject on the "Grate Gate" discussion should have known I'm not an idiot and that in my past culinary experience that I know how to clean a grate and when to replace it. By "rust" I was implying "corrosion". I would also like to say on record, yes, I think most park grills are fairly nasty, but the clean up team around the Appalachian trail does a great job of keeping the grills clean.

I approve of the moderators ruling.

There was never an implication of idiocy, sir. Only that the solution I offered is usually not often thought of.

Also, one should have stated the decrepit state of said grill grate.

Smile and Frown:

Anyone remember that?

Yeah, I'm dropping this fool. I can't take any more. I've never been sent so many mixed messages in all my life. He tells me he wants one thing when I talk to him, then he'll email me and tell me something completely different. No wonder his worker turnaround is so high.

I made a can label for him over a month ago. He told me he liked it and that it "looks really good." (<--I've got that last part in writing). Put it on his product and everything. This morning I get an email where he goes on a mini-rant about everything I've done for him and says, "And I told you I wanted it to look like this competitors label. Does it LOOK like that to you?" Dude, why didn't you say anything for a month? You can't tell me it looks good, print it out, use it, and then come back a month later and tell me it's not what you wanted.

And that's just one example. He's like that with everything. "This looks good." "No, it needs to look like THIS!" "Don't worry about "X". That's something I need to do." "Why haven't you done "X"!"

I could deal with it if he weren't so rude and belligerent, but screw it. I don't have to take it, so I won't.

Goodbye fool! Hello less stupidity-induced stress!

Smile: A gaming-centric day! Played FF4 for a few hours this morning, then read some of a book about Atari, then went to work for a bit to talk about games research/gaming with a student and to follow up on emails with a few industry legends, then checked out some game sales at the local strip mall, then came home and played a new Vita game (Resistance). Most of the time in between all that was largely spent here. Tonight: more of all of the same :)

Frown: Giving it all a rest to make dinner :(

Smile: I'm making sushi :)

Right it's not idiocy, just poor choice of words. Like when Menegrothx said his keyboard was "damn dirty."

It is indeed "damn dirty", but, dare I say, there is a difference between "damn dirty" and "Oh, dear god, what crawled up into your keyboard and died?"
