I saw Adventures of Tin Tin and Haywire.

They were alright. Tin Tin was really sloppily put together, though. :\
Haywire was told inconsistently, but was decent overall. (Yay plot threads that go nowhere ... they're not loose threads, they get resolved ... they just amount to nothing)

I think Haywire and Hanna are both very similar. Both focus on some badass chick who needs to beat up and kill a bad guy, and the rest of both movies is just finding stuff for them to do until that happens. I found both movies entertaining, but they both felt unfinished and unfocused, a lot of cool ideas with little tying them together. And both had rather anti-climactic endings. Although Haywire's ending seems disappointing on purpose. It felt like they were making a joke.

Hanna seems more interested in being artsy than being a good action movie. Haywire wants to impress you with its MMA fighting and it's very non-Hollywood, indie feeling approach to its set piece moments. They both feel like one trick ponies though. I could point to individual scenes and moments from both movies that are very cool, but both movies as a whole just aren't that memorable.

I enjoyed both movies, but I came away from them feeling like you would after having a few good snacks. You're happy, but still a bit hungry. They leave you wanting more, but not in a good way. Salt is a better movie than both of them. I'd rate Hanna and Haywire a 7.0 and Salt a solid 8.5.

If you really want great action though, you look to the Asian movies. Having recently seen Chocolate and Ip Man, those movies make the notion of calling Hanna, Haywire, and Salt "action movies" seem like joke. It seems unfair to compare those movies to Asian cinema though. Seriously, a lot of Asian martial arts movies are just in a league of their own. For the pure action junkie, Chocolate has more action than Hanna, Salt and Haywire combined and if you like seeing young girls kick ass, the girl from Chocolate could kick Hanna's ass six ways from sunday.

And Iron Man only flies in like two stages of the video game. No way he could fly around the entire movie and not get low on gas.

Don't even make me start about the fact the Black Widow wasn't black, and the Hulk wasn't grey. Racist Hollywood jerkwads.

Somehow I forgot to mention MAN PUSH CART, and I can't believe I did with as much negative I've had to give lately.

MAN PUSH CART is bliss to people who really appreciate indie movies that are as good as any blockbuster. And if you think from the title that the movie is about a man pushing a cart, well, you're almost right. But when our star is not pushing his cart full of bagels, donuts, coffee and other low priced items, the movie teeters on being brilliant.

If MAN PUSH CART was food, you'd say "it sticks to your ribs". It brought an emotion in me that rarely films do, and did it very well. If you have ever had to move from just not schools, but to what seems like moving to another culture you get a distinct and memorable feeling of not being scared, but extremely uncomfortable. You feel alienated, and even if you meet people back from your hometown, it's not the same.

This film does a superb job of making you fell like you have no home, you in fact are alienated, but you do have something to do: Push a cart. Sell items. Push Cart.

MAN PUSH CART will also make you think. Not only about the events in the film, but about the street vending business, the street vending community, and about the street vendor who may sell you a hot dog.

Watched Iron Sky last Saturday. I had high hopes for this movie and I'm happy to say that I wasn't in the least bit disappointed.

Iron Sky was definitely worth the wait! Pokes fun at the hypocrisy of everyone, it's definitely worth watching.
