Thanks.

Metroid and Zelda are going to be great I think. I've played Super Metroid several times and love it, so it'll be nice to spend some time with the original. Same deal with Zelda, I've beaten every console game from ALTTP onward, so I feel I owe the original its due.

I've got no clue what to expect with Illusion of Gaia.

Final Fantasy Tactics is the only one I'm kinda worried about. I've tried to play through it a long time ago, but ended up finding it kinda slow and tedious. I might end up replacing that one with something else, maybe Disgaea as it's kinda similar but a lot more fast paced.

It's been too long since I was able to relax with a good game. I'm going to go ahead and give this Summer Challenge a go. I tried to pull games from my collection that I have always wanted to finish but either haven't picked them up yet or was distracted by other things when I first started playing them. I'm going with June, July, August as my time-frame.

My list:

1. Yoshi's Island (SNES)
2. LOZ: A Link to the Past (SNES)
3. Resident Evil 2 (PS1)
4. Space Channel 5 SE (PS2)
5. Viewtiful Joe (PS2)
6. MGS 3: Snake Eater (PS3/HD)
7. No More Heroes (Wii)
8. Phantasy Star IV (PS3/GenCollection)
9. Knuckles Chaotix (32X)
10. Valkyrie Profile Lenneth (PSP)

I am installing data from UMD> PSP for FF4 and will get started momentarily. How long is it?

after an extremely busy week, and an even busier weekend, I finally had some down time to spend with Cave Story today. I'm up to what I presume is the boss of the Labyrinth. I have to say, I think this game is pretty great. The "Metroidvania" tag almost scared me off initially, as I'm not a big fan of the Metroid series (I know, I know... but I'm just being real) and my favorite Castlevania games tend to be linear. That said, this game is great fun. Though it's still mostly linear... at least as far as I've played through.

It's not even as much a Metroidvania as VVVVVV, and I'd call that an "open-world platformer" anyways. I can see where the comparison come from but I wouldn't call Cave Story a Metroidvania game myself. It's mostly linear. (Don't talk to the guy laying at the bottom of the pit, whatever you do)

So I started Mario Kart Wii and I'm already flying through all the different cups. Shouldn't take TOO long to unlock everything for the next time I have friends over.

I also started Ico tonight. So far it's pretty cool, but I'm finding it a little hard to know what to do... I even kept going past the save couch when it didn't do anything when I walked up to it... I had to read the manual to figure out how to actually save the game.

And if all goes according to plan I will either continue Fallout from wherever I left off or restart it tomorrow.

I like to have a few different types of games going so I can mix it up when the mood strikes! :D

Are you just doing the original, no after years or whatever?
I think I read it was about 25 hours or so all in.

Finally putting up my 10, not in any order:

1. Sonic Generations (PS3)
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC)
3. Pokemon Red (GB)
4. Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition (PS3)
5. Kirby's Dreamland 3 (SNES)
6. Killer7 (GCN)
7. Hitman 2: Silent Assasin (PC)
8. Max Payne 2 (PC)
9. Portal 2 (PS3)
10. Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3)

A few of these I started quite a while ago, but didn't finish. Some are backlog, and a few I don't even own yet. I doubt I'll finish all of them, but I'll be happy if I even get through half.

I see maybe only 2-3 games I would consider "classics" in that list, maybe. Is your aim to play classics or to just make a list of 10 games that you want to beat? (either is fine, of course)
