Well Tom is back (though not massively yet, hopefully that changes once they have time to do more bumps with him), he did do one of his game reviews last night (Last of Us).
Two new Anime's are in and the press release said classics would make a come back. So, for now it is just the waiting game I guess.
Best April Fools? Return of Toonami on Cartoon Network

Yea, except the two new anime are not great or even good. Deadman Wonderland?? LOL. And Casshern Sins. Casshern Sins has nice artwork, but that is about all it's got.

Deadman Wonderland was awesome, I wanna see where this story goes.ZenErik wrote:Yea, except the two new anime are not great or even good. Deadman Wonderland?? LOL. And Casshern Sins. Casshern Sins has nice artwork, but that is about all it's got.
Casshern Sins did nothing but confuse me though.

^ I'm with you. Deadman Wonderland looks very interesting. I'm hoping I'll enjoy that one. And Casshern Sins...well, yeah, it confused me a bit too. I've no idea what's going on but I'm still excited, so I don't care.
To be completely honest, I'm just glad they put on a couple new shows.
I'd love to see them pick up Slayers or Magic Knight Rayearth, though. You're right. Those would fit really well in the line-up.

DBZ is airing on, what channel is that, Nicktoons, I believe? So they probably couldn't afford to buy the rights from them. And as far as Sailor Moon goes I don't think an english version has been re-licenced yet. Maybe if CN shows some interest Funimation will decide to pick it up and do that re-dub they were thinking about a couple years ago.AppleQueso wrote:Where's our Sailor Moons and DBZs and Gundams and other stuff that'd fit in well like Slayers or Magic Knight Rayearth?

What's wrong with the old Sailor Moon dub? Just wondering.Michi wrote:^ I'm with you. Deadman Wonderland looks very interesting. I'm hoping I'll enjoy that one. And Casshern Sins...well, yeah, it confused me a bit too. I've no idea what's going on but I'm still excited, so I don't care.

Also, I never got the big deal about Sailor Moon. I remember watching bits of it when I was little, and I never got anything out of it like I did DBZ, which I personally have only seen a couple of episodes from.

It's not that there's anything wrong with the original dub (thought that's up to debate depending on who you talk to), it's just that the companies that held the rights to it no longer exist so there's no one to buy the rights from. ADV had the rights to the first two seasons but they folded in 2009 and Geneon had the rights to 3 and 4 and they closed in 2007.Forlorn Drifter wrote:What's wrong with the old Sailor Moon dub? Toei pretty much put a freeze on re-licensing in 2007 (I think I read something about the company restructuring, but I don't know) and it's only been in the last couple of years that they've been looking to sell the international license again.

Do you know if this Casshern Sins have anything to do with Casshern: Robot Hunter? I saw an anime movie on the sci-fi channel of Casshern: Robot Hunter on the Sci-Fi Channel in the 90s as a kid/teen and I haven't seen a copy of it since. I remember really liking it, so here's to hoping it's connected.Michi wrote:And Casshern Sins...well, yeah, it confused me a bit too. It does not. It is a series reboot. A very dark one at that. But it looks pretty.BurningDoom wrote:Do you know if this Casshern Sins have anything to do with Casshern: Robot Hunter? A series reboot of Casshern: Robot Hunter? Or a reboot of something else entirely?ZenErik wrote:It does not. It is a series reboot. A very dark one at that.
