Does anyone with a PS3 have this? I got my copy a few days ago (awhile since launch, I know) and have platinumed the first game, but I am currently on Jak II and while it can be a difficult game it is still a good game. Have not played Jak 3 yet.
I really enjoyed the first game in the series though. I have played it on the PS2 long time ago and remembered how much fun to be had with this classic. The second one has way more bland environments than the first game which is understandable given the theme. Haven Forest and its surrounding areas are very enjoyable though. I just wish the platforming sequences are more abundant, as they seem rather scarce in light of the driving missions. The boss fights to me are much better on this game than the predecessor.
Anyone played the third game?
Jak Collection for PS3
Re: Jak Collection for PS3
Jak II was disproportionately hard. I thought that Jak 3 was the best in the series, in terms of synthesizing what made it great while cutting out the flak, repetition and frustration.

Yeah I have not played Jak 3. Heard from many others it really is good. Can't wait to platinum Jak II so I can set this game aside and move on to Jak 3. Jak II is kind of boring in many parts.

Personally, I'd rank the games: Jak & Daxter > Jak 3 > Jak 2. Jak 2 and 3 really aren't even the same sort of game that the original is, but I think Jak 3 does the new formula better than 2 did. Less frustrating, more variety, better environments, better framerate, less of the fake dark maturity. Don't get me wrong, though; Jak 2 is still an excellent game.

Some dude from Naughty Dog said in an interview a few months ago that they considered making a fourth game, but decided against it. I don't remember the reason, but it sounded like the decision was final.

Amen to that! My thoughts exactly.
I really wish they hadn't jumped on the GTA-bandwagon, the first Jak was such a gorgeous game, I really love the innocent and beautiful world of Jak 1. I'm a huge Crash Bandicoot 1-3 fan which might partially explain it. Jak 2 and 3 are different breed, but I still like them both a lot. Jak 2 wasnt really hard in the traditional sense (like super meat boy or donkey kong country), it just lacked checkpoints so while you would breeze through most parts of a difficult a level, there would be 1 or 2 parts where there was a difficult jump or something which would fuck things up for you over and over again.

For some stupid reason they tried to turn Jak more realistic, and it naturally didnt work. Cartooney characters like Daxter and Crash Bandicoot just dont work in a realistic envrionment and they'll look horrible if you try too hard to make them look like humans/real life.

As a kid I played Jak and Daxter when a friend let me borrow it. I loved it but then that christmas I got Jak 2 and man did that game blow me away. It also led me to try out the amazing ps2 Ratchet and Clank games. I honestly spent more time on Jak 2 then any other ps2 game besides maybe Going Commando. I never did get to try out Jak 3 unfortunately but if I ever get around to getting a ps3 I can not wait to own the HD collection for Jak and Ratchet.

Why dont you just buy it for ps2? It can't cost more than $5 at this point.
