Leave it to me to revive a dead topic, but for those of you who have beaten the game...
SPOILERS!!!
Did any of you realize that you can kill Dapang(the fat guy you face in the final boss battle) by destroying the dragon statue and causing the debris to fall on top of him? I discovered this by accident and thought it was unbelievably cool. I found it a bit hard to do consistently on subsequent attempts though, but it's great that you can use environmental damage even on a boss. Using the environment against the enemy is probably the coolest thing about this game.
I doubt anyone will read or respond to this. LOL
Stranglehold video looks fun
Go watch Hard Boiled now, so you know where this all comes from. Sure, considering this film has spent the last fifteen years being copied, some of its scenes seem a little lackluster now, but the hospital sequence...you remember the arcade shooters like Area 51, Maximum Force, and Crisis Zone? That's what the movie feels like at times. Go check it out.

Late response to this post, but I have seen Hard Boiled since creating this topic. I was actually incredibly impressed by the whole thing. The hospital sequence still blows away most action movies and I was surprised to see that Hard Boiled tells a fairly interesting story, thanks mostly to Alan's character.Ack wrote:Go watch Hard Boiled now, so you know where this all comes from. Here's the funny thing though. Hard Boiled is so unbelievably awesome, that I'm actually LESS impressed by Stranglehold now. LOL. Storywise, Stranglehold doesn't have any characters as memorable as Mad Dog or Alan, the girlfriend character is not as cool as his girl from Hard Boiled, and Tequila doesn't have the same kind of chemistry with Jerry that he had with Alan. Plus, being able to see Hard Boiled in its original language makes the whole thing more authentic, while Stranglehold makes the odd choice as having all your enemies talk in Chinese, while the cut scenes are all done in english.
Plus, I don't think any level in Stranglehold reaches the levels of awesomeness that the action in Hard Boiled's hospital sequence does. Another funny thing that occurred to me is that it is impossible to avoid getting shot in Stranglehold. That's why there's so many health items everywhere. Part of what makes the action sequences in Hard Boiled so awesome is that you only see Tequila get shot one time throughout the whole movie.
I still think Strangelhold is a good game, but as a sequel to Hard Boiled it doesn't really deliver. Seeing that movie has put the game in a whole new light for me
