How rare is the 3D control pad for the Sega Saturn?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

It's actually not debatable. It simply is not rare by any definition.

However how can you say the ultimate holy grail of the Sega Saturn, Panzer Dragoon saga is not worth bragging about? It sure is worth bragging about if you're a game collector.[/quote]
It's worth mentioning, yes, and perhaps bragging if you found it for very cheap at a garage sale or something. I wouldn't call it the "ultimate holy grail" of the Saturn. Something like Taromaru would be harder to get (no, not Radiant Silvergun. It's not as rare as some people let on), and therefore more of a "holy grail." Actually, of US Saturn games, Magic Knight Rayearth is harder to find than PDS. PDS is expensive due to it only having around 20,000 copies out there though, that is definitely true.
There may be a few games more valuable/rare like Air Raid on the Atari 2600 and Nintendo World Championships but not many.
You'd be surprised. There are hundreds of rarer games out there. I could name a few dozen off the top of my head.

Saturn 3D pad= common
Panzar Dragoon Saga= semi-rare (and relatively expensive for a Saturn game)

A month or two ago I got a saturn console in a case with 2 3d pads for 10 bucks.

I've gotten some slightly scratched 3d pads at the fleamarket a few years ago for about 2-3 bucks.

They work good.

Its nice having things.

Sorry to hear that. Its always hard to tell with retro stuff whether or not it is rare. There was I game I had bought for an expensive price once. It was rare. Then, a foreclosed warehouse in the states was opened up and suddenly everybody and their dog had a copy of the game. It killed me.

Just another note of proof, in case your'e still questioning, on my visit to my local retro store, I found 14 Saturn 3D pads and about 10 generic controllers made for it.

Exactly. Trust us here, lots of us have a VERY good handle on what is rare(ish) and what isn't.

Panzar Dragoon Saga had what... about 20,000 copies printed in the US? Rayearth I think was around 15,000. Those are among there rarest US Saturn games, although not THE rarest. Isn't Daytona USA CE Network edition the rarest in North America?

But hey, the 3D pad is still fun to use in the right games. As long as your analog pad hasn't developed a drift...

It seems like this video is relevant:

If I mention Storage Wars, you'll already know if you've seen it or not.

I've never seen this controller before, what makes it different from a a regular Saturn pad, Busomjack?

It's got an analog stick. Kinda looks like a prototype Dreamcast controller or something. Was originally bundled with NiGHTs.

It's comfier than it looks too, and really helps with certain games.
