Problem playing dragon warrior 2,3,4 on nes ? The splites or your characters just flashing really bad. When it happen when i am talking to anybody (like the innkeeper, etc) it would be that person and the last person in my group flash . Do anybody have that problem ???
Edit : Do i need to opening up the game ?
Also i don't remember that happening back in the day ???
Clean the cartridge first.
If that doesn't work, replace the 72-pin connector (a very easy fix). If you do that, it might be a little too tight at first so I'd advise "breaking it in" with something like Super Mario Bros so you don't inadvertently cause scratches on a rare/valuable game like Dragon Warrior IV.

I am actually using a av famicon with a 60 -pin connector
I thought that this was normal, due to the display limitations of the NES. It can only show a certain number of sprites at a time, so the system alternates between showing the person your talking to and the last person in the party. Unfortunately the refresh rate is such that this is noticeable. I don't think anything is wrong with your copies, it's just a limitation of the system.
I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere.

You mean a 60>72-pin pass-through cart (or whatever it would be exactly), or are you playing the Famicom versions of DQ II-IV?
Maybe that would affect it. I have no idea.
Take a photo of your set-up, so we know exactly what you are working with.
Actually I am using a convertor on my usa version and it doing my dragon quest 4 and it does the flashing when i pass like chapter 3 or the last . and it just bugs me to death .
