How To Organize Long/Short Game Path for Together Retro

Post by racketboy »

I wanted to have a little brainstorming session on the best ways to organize the two different "paths" of games (long and short) for Together Retro without it being too confusing.

My primary concern is letting people visualize the timelines for the games and help them realize that just because a new "short" game has started doesn't mean that we stopped the current "long" game and issues like that.

I think the best thing to do would be consistent dates.
For example short term we get a new game every 1st and 16th? or first Monday and third Monday of each month.
The long one should be a 2 or 3 month cycle.

Also having distinct names may help too like:
Together Retro: The Score (short arcade type games)
Together Retro: The Story (long story driven games)

I like your ideas for subtitles :)
My only concern about the consistent dates is some games are longer than others...
Plus, I like to spread my posts out and sometimes I may have a regular post that I really want to post and might mess up the TR schedule.

I have the same problem with SpaceBooger. I have scheduled content mon, wed, thurs, and fri. It sucks when I have something spur of the moment that I want to post, but I have hits that come on those specific days for that specific content. So as much as it sucks and that I sometimes double post or save posts the ease for the visitors comes first.
Not that I am trying to tell you what to do with your site, I just know it helps mine.

Oh, and about the subtitles... thanks, I liked them too.
