I found Jamestown pretty bland, but the setting/story is entertaining.

Doesn't remind me of Dragon Blaze or any Cave shmups. At all. It lacks the scoring mechanics of Cave releases.

Edit: but if you wish to buy it, it is apparently 2/3 off on Steam right now. Certainly worth trying at that price. And despite the fact that I am not a big fan I would say that it's worth trying for $10 too. Hope they make more shmups. :)

what did you find bland about Jamestown?

Oh, and when I compared it to Esp and DB, I meant visually and the "feel" of the controls. The scoring mechanics are obviously different, but the visuals feel pretty DB and the whole coin-drop left by enemies thing is there too.

I think it's because I favor shmups with interesting scoring gimmicks and gameplay mechanics. Jamestown plays a lot more old school than my favorites.

It took me nearly 5 levels to figure out that you can manually disable the Vaunt.

Guess I don't play as many shmups as you guys.

Durimukyasuto of course...

Playing Trizeal for the moment. And it rocks!...

Love the popcorn music, love the graphics.

The game is like poetry in motion... ^^
