Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Number of high-school students with jobs hits 20-year low. This problem seriously needs to be fixed. I know I had a real hard time finding a job myself. It took a year, and it's just 10 hours a week at minimum wage. And some people aren't even that "lucky."
Sadly, I'm thinking that even when the economy finally recovers, the recovery rate for teen employment is going to lag behind.

That sounds... rather low for a world high score. Only five times? Is it long, hard, not popular or something?lisalover1 wrote:I'm going to try and get the world high score for My Hero on the Master System. According to Twin Galaxies, it's at 850,000, which means I'll have to play the game through about 5 times to beat it. Wish me luck; I'll post an update when I do beat it!

Some of their world records are abnormally low.
If one felt like it, they could easily obtain a dozen world records on that site with little effort.

I just realized that marurun is not a new member, he's actually an ancient one that's returned in the last month. Sometimes this place is a little hard to keep up with.

Good luck! It's tough to get some scores, but when you get everything recorded, it's immensely rewarding. You got this, bro!lisalover1 wrote:I'm going to try and get the world high score for My Hero on the Master System. Man, that's a shame. I'm only 21, but my biggest life regret is not getting a job during the second semester of my senior year. It took me about a year and a half after graduation before I could secure a job.BoringSupreez wrote:Number of high-school students with jobs hits 20-year low. Just remembered about this:
On Monday, I ordered two envelope-sized packages; one from Britain and one from America. The British one came on Thursday, but the American one still has to come... yet I live in America. Why does our mail service suck?

Because the USPS, despite being an independent corporation, falls under the auspices of the government enough that it is required (ludicrously) to fully fund its pension plan decades in advance.GameMasterGuy wrote:Just remembered about this:

This pension plan scheme has remained in place as it is an easy place (like social security) for congress to borrow funds from for projects it wishes to fund today.
As result, the USPS is financially crippled and is unable to hire enough employees, modernize its equipment, or move mail quickly.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
