Yeah, every console has it's strenghts and weaknesses and there is no perfect system, there is always a flaw to be found. I guess if you really had to name a greatest gaming platform of all time. There is always something on another system that is done better then system a or b. Like for ex. I am a huge wrestling fan, the best wrestling game ever IMO is No Mercy, that was on N64 at the time I had a PS1,Saturn & DC so in order for me to play a wrestling game that did not require my to hit a 13 button and and stick combo to pull of a suplex, I needed to have an N64....the best console to own is as many as you can get your hands on! Even the Jaguar has a good exclusive game or two.
As people have mentioned before, it's like choosing a favorite child. I suppose I could cheat and count consoles that have lots of compilations and/or emulation capabilities, but that would make things too easy.nateup2 wrote:Only one console... cant imagine it... but what if you were only allowed one, for whatever reason.racketboy wrote:As weird as it sounds, I don't think any console is the greatest of all time.
There isn't one that I would want as my only console, so that's the way I look at it...
I woulda guessed you would choose either DC or Saturn. Am I wrong? Although I don't consider either one the GOAT, I would prob choose one or the other for my one console. (as flawed at they are)
I agree with you on "no greatest", though. With so many different dimensions of greatness to judge... pretty much impossible, just like any subject.
I guess when it comes down to it, these are the consoles I still play most:
Dreamcast
Saturn
Gamecube
Although I actually play the DS most, but it has portability on its side.

I agree with ya though, ther is no GOAT console for me....but If I had to choose It would be a CDX. I've been playing mostly Genesis and Sega CD games for the past year with a dash of Gamecube and PS2 here and there. Super NES gets some occasional love....but sadly the two consoles mentioned most, Saturn and Dreamcast, have got the least play this year. This is all changing once I beat Shining Force 2....EGG and Shining Wisdom are next in line.
