Re: Video Pinball
I picked up The Gottlieb Collection for PS2 (think it was $9.95 new). Oh, no - not Black Hole again!!!
We should really pursue the "table of the month" high score idea. I'm open to whichever.

Got the Gottlieb collection for GameCube today. I'm ready to rock some Black Hole and another favorite of mine, Tee'd Off. Just need to find the time to play it sometime soonretrosportsgamer wrote:I picked up The Gottlieb Collection for PS2 (think it was $9.95 new). Oh, no - not Black Hole again!!!

Have fun! Watch the nudge, it's SUPER sensitive on the Gottlieb games.ExedExes wrote:Got the Gottlieb collection for GameCube today. I'm ready to rock some Black Hole and another favorite of mine, Tee'd Off. Just need to find the time to play it sometime soon
Be ready to TILT! a lot at first.
I like the old EM's they included. Genie is my hands down favorite, though.

Tell me about it. As I found out, one nudge move and its TILTc0wb0y wrote: Have fun! Watch the nudge, it's SUPER sensitive on the Gottlieb games.

I did 5 of the 7 so far and I realized as much as I love love LOVE pinball, those Gottlieb tables will chew you up and spit you out. Stuck with Black Hole most of the day.
Genie is great. Easy to score well and replays are plentiful and I like the mini playfield on the top. So far too, the easiest goal to unlock. Got the 20K but still haven't made the shot.
If only Central Park wasn't so damn evil
Still, Farsight Studios did an excellent job with this.

Re: Video Pinball
Central Park - where to begin. I've had some decent scores but still have not met the objective that Farsight sets. Still I play it every time. Classic pinball.
I own Gottlieb Circus - a very similar layout to Genie. Check out IPDB.com to see photos. I love these early and simple Solid State (SS) pins.

Their stuff from the 60s seems to be right-on, as frustrating as CP is, the rules and the targets are a lot of fun to try to get -- compare with Slick Chick from the Microsoft Pinball Arcade.c0wb0y wrote:Central Park - where to begin. I have a fondness for early SS too and Genie is perfect. Also got to do Incredible Hulk for real once. I found out on IPDB the guy who designed Genie also designed Central Park!
I played a old broken down Sure Shot EM from 1976 many many times when I was younger at the local community center. The right flipper when pressed seemed like it was shaking violently up and down, but that was always good times.
