nullDC Problem - Shenmue Hangs At Sega Screen
Hey all. I don't know exactly what's wrong, but whenever I try to play Shenmue on nullDC, it hangs at the Sega Screen. The emulator still responds, but it just sits there. Does anyone know what the problem might be, or do I need to provide more information?

Re: nullDC Problem - Shenmue Hangs At Sega Screen
I've heard this is a common issue
It is actually a bug report on the nullDC page: http://code.google.com/p/nulldc/issues/detail?id=340
I had some similar reports after googling following keywords (i hate to be that guy, but
it might bring you to the right page)
Shenmue nullDC "sega screen"
Hope you fix the problem

I actually read that same page, and the solution on it didn't help me. Also, I have tried google searching for a solution, but didn't find anything.TheObscureGamer wrote:I've heard this is a common issue

EDIT: I also tried using Chankast, but I couldn't get any games to start on that.

Re: nullDC Problem - Shenmue Hangs At Sega Screen
I just gave it a shot with the Shenmue PAL image, and it works for me, I was hoping
to be able to recreate this issue you have..
My final suggestions are
a) different Shenmue images
b) different DC bios/flash images

for some reason NullDC doesn't recognize my keyboard at all. So I've never been able to use it.

Suppose I do go get the PAL Version, is it gonna run at 50 FPS or 60 FPS on the Emulator? I'm not used to the PAL Format.TheObscureGamer wrote:I just gave it a shot with the Shenmue PAL image, and it works for me, I was hoping

After a bit of fiddling, I've managed to get the PAL image to run at
60fps by doing this:
a) selecting following cable time: "VGA (0) RGB "
b) setting region to USA

Okay, I finally got a PAL Image of Shenmue, and it STILL hangs at the Sega Screen. I don't know what's wrong...TheObscureGamer wrote:After a bit of fiddling, I've managed to get the PAL image to run at

Also, I tried Chankast again, and it's reading everything as Audio CDs.

I'm running out of ideas, really.
A last ditch effort would be trying different bios images (there are different ones
floating around).
