I'd think he would have moved on to FreeCell at some point.

I feel the same way dude. I pushed my self to finish FF7 just to watch Advent Children (after failing to beat it twice in the past) and out of all the FF games I have played (4,6,7,8,9,10,12,13) it's my second least favorite (after 10).

Re: Talk me into sticking with FF VII
Ok, that does sound like hyperbole, but seriously, the last game I got was Donkey Kong Country 2 in 1995, which I played for about 3 days. Oh, and in 1998, me and a friend went to Funcoland (remember Funcoland?!?!?) and bought a bunch of old NES game paks, which, again, kept us entertained for about 3 days. After that, the next video game I played was the illegal Android app of Final Fantasy IV, and that was in November 2010! And, I shit you not, I had totally forgotten how to hold a fucking controller, I was using my left, d-pad hand to hit the start button and even the B button! And when I caught myself doing that I was like "dude! DUDE! What the fuck!".D.D.D. wrote:AppliCotton wrote:... I didn't play anything but Minesweeper between 1995 and 2011...
Now I'm good, but I got a lot of catching up to do

I say give up FF7. I loved the game and had loads of fun with it, but you're not enjoying it. What the point of playing a video game if you are not having fun? That's the point in them, to entertain.
It does sound like you are almost out of Midgar, but once you start the Sephiroth flashbacks, you will shoot yourself. There are a lot of slow parts in the game to tell story.

Thank you. That's the kind of red flag I was looking for.rlrunyon wrote:once you start the Sephiroth flashbacks, you will shoot yourself.

The main thing FFVII has going for it: it was a lot of people's first FF.

It was worth it for me alone cause there were some funny Greek subs going around for the Jap release which were hilarious xD.Xeogred wrote: Yikes, talk about an unrewarding goal.

That's because IV is best.AppliCotton wrote:IV will always be the best in my book.
While the same charge can be levied against us IVers, I've always found that those who really like VII do so only out of nostalgia, and that it is often their first major RPG, or something like that. However, as a huge fan of IV, I do recommend you try out IX. I was enjoying it all the way up to the card-playing mini-game that's part of the main story, but I enjoyed it enough that I will, eventually, go back to it and try to beat it.
