More Oracle of Seasons tonight. Got lost for a while, but finally figured out how to get into the 4th dungeon. I remember this game fairly well it seems, even if I haven't played i like 8-10 years now

The PS2 port of Alpha Anthology. I am not even sure who to use, as I don't want to stick with the old standby Chun Li or Ryu. Guy seems ok, though all of the running and leaping attacks make me hesitate. I will spend more time playing as him tonight.

What do you think of the Ism thing? I found that X-Ism made things work way better for me, as most of my fighters were ones carried over from SF2.

I really have not played with it much. So far, I have only tried out A-ism. That may be some of the issue.

Ok, having now read up on the game, I think V-ism is where I want to be, as I like custom combos, I don't want to sacrifice the handiness of air blocking and alpha counters, and Alpha's chain combo system never felt quite right once I got used to later Capcom fighters. That is what I get for walking blind into a game. When I get home, I will experiment with it and see if it appeals to me more. I may stick with Chun Li, but I am still unsure.

Haha, this is exactly how I play most fighters. I went in to Mark of the Wolves, my first SNK fighter, without reading up on it first and pretty much just mashed out Street Fighter inputs and was doing pretty well... Then I read up on the manual and couldn't believe how ridiculously complex the game is. I still have no idea how 80% of the systems work and probably won't for a while.

Admittedly I do that most of the time, and it works at the start, though for some games I just am unable to pull it off. Doomsday Warrior on the SNES is one of those. I have started playing more SNK fighters lately and delving into them, which might also be part of the issue. I am getting away from my Street Fighter frame of mind.

Hm, StarTropics or Battle of Olympus? I put in the latter today to test it out, and I'm impressed. It's something that makes me want to play it right away, and I wasn't even that big a fan of Zelda II.
