I just played for the last hour or so. Servers were up.

Controller support for Diablo? I don't even....

Ah, they are up now. :D

What's wrong with playing Diablo 3 with a controller? I played the PS1 version of the original Diablo before I actually played the PC version. There are few enough buttons in Diablo 3 that should play fine with a controller.

I don't know...I tried the PS1 port and didn't care for it as much with the controller - it just seems built for a mouse. I feel the same way about RTS games.

I am about half way through Act 3, still doing my initial playthrough (and approaching 20 hours in). I really, really like this game.

Going to play right now. We'll see how it goes. Honestly, I was playing with a trackpad before. Controller should do slightly better than that. A mouse would be ideal and more accurate, but I am just playing while sitting on my bed.

Perhaps I will get a trackball mouse. I quite liked the trackball back when I played space sims, but I know most people these days prefer laser mice for gaming.

A trackball mouse is my next luxury purchase, probably 2-3 months down the line. I'd never use it for FPS or RTS games, though, and Diablo controls much like the latter.

Yeah, I could see a controller being an upgrade to a trackpad. But the mouse gives you so much better controll. I can multishot in three directions in half a second.

I'd like to see what you think. I play Diabs on my TV and it's not super ideal for k&m.

Game plays perfectly fine with a controller. It's not really that much harder to aim. I wouldn't use it for RTS, but I think it is fine for Diablo

Here is my setup on a PS3 controller

R1 - Left mouse click
R2 - Right mouse click
R3 - Q (potions)
Square, triangle, X, O - hot keys 1,2,3,4
L1 - Shift (hold)
L2 - Z (zoom)
Start - ESC
Select - J (quests)
Left Joystick - Mouse
Left d-pad - I (inventory)
Right d-pad - S (skills)
Up d-pad - T )town portal)
down d-pad - alt (to see items)

I think I might try this.
