That's what I was wondering... especially when it's so easy to emulate the original arcade games.Breetai wrote:What's the point of that?noiseredux wrote:What about NeoGeo CD emulation?
But based on his original post I think maybe noise wants to collect some NGCD games without buying the actual console.

^^Either that or he REALLY wants to play Samurai Shodown RPG. That game is probably the only reason anyone would emulate a NGCD.

so I understand that GD-ROMs and GCN discs can't be read using most DVD-drives. But my question is, how would you get those (Dreamcast, GCN, Wii) discs ripped to ISO? Is there a way to do this? I don't want to download ISO's, I want to just rip games I actually own myself. Possible?
Also, what's everyone's recent experience with Dolphin? I haven't kept up with it. I feel like I remember its hardware requirements being really high. But that was a while back.

the Dolphin emulator has been updated often recently. from the last build i tried, a lot of games are working good. mostly i played japanese exclusive gamecube games and some wiiware games. Sonic 4 Episode 1 still experiencing slows down. Mega Man 9 still has minor issues also but the rest of the wiiware seems to run fine (Contra Rebirth, Final Fintasy After Years). The gamecube emulation support is great however! you just have to do some minor tweaking in the options for each games (which ones works best). but yes, it helps to have a high end computer (64bit, Dual core, etc).noiseredux wrote:Also, what's everyone's recent experience with Dolphin? I believe the DC rips were done with a DC, a broadband adapter, and voodoo.noiseredux wrote:so I understand that GD-ROMs and GCN discs can't be read using most DVD-drives. sure I am. I've heard that PS1 emulators can do some amazing things to the look of PS1 games. No?BoneSnapDeez wrote: And I'm assuming you have no interest in PS1/2 emulation...
I did once try to get a PS2 emulator working, but it was slow as hell. I'm not sure if I just didn't know how to configure it right though. I've certainly heard others say that they've gotten PS2 games running great on their PC's.
